Moonlit Movies got its start in the summer of 2006 when three Oconomowoc locals came together with the idea of creating a fun community venue while also giving back to the community. Brian Nemoir, Ken Herro and Craig Pruscha stumbled through the first year raising the funds and doing all the leg work. They held two movies in the park and had the third rained out, but none the less created something the community enjoyed while raising food, money and awareness for the Oconomowoc Food Pantry.

In the off season coming towards the 2007 season, a select group of other civic minded were brought onto the Board and the group formed themselves as the non-profit entity, Moonlit Movies, Inc. The orginazation has flourished with the additions. Our 2nd season of 2007 went wonderfully with over 1200 in attendance. Local corporate sponsors have given this venue its legs and without them this would still be an idea. In 2007 the effort brought over 5000 pounds of food danations and over $4500 cash to the Food Pantry, while also providing an ever growing environment of food, fun and movies.
